How to insert special characters in Windows7

Special characters are characters you need to have specially when you are writing a document using a another language besides english. Those are characters, you cannot find in your keyboard. For that matter Windows has the Character Map, which allows you to insert those characters into your document using all those special character from the language you are using to write you document.. This application is easy to find and easy to use. So, that been said; I’m to show you how you can insert special characters into your document, using Character Map in Windows 7.

How to insert special characters in your document:

  1. Once you have Character Map opened, choose the Font you need from the list.
  2. Find and click the special character you need to use in your document. You will see the character you have chosen in the Character to copy.
  3. When you are sure is the one you need: Click Select, and Copy.
  4. In your document in Edit menu, click Paste.

How to insert special character using the keyboard.

  1. Once you have Character Map opened; choose the Font you need from the list.
  2. Find and click the special character you need to use in your document. You will see the character you have chosen in the Character to copy.
  3. You will find the keystroke combination at the bottom-left corner of the window.
    As you can see the combination Alt+0233 is the keystroke combination for the é for the Font.

Be advised: Not all the Special characters have the keystroke combination.
